Brazilian Judge Orders Nationwide Suspension of Rumble Platform

Ankara: Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes on Friday ordered the suspension of the Rumble video platform across Brazil, citing repeated non-compliance with court orders. Moraes accused the Florida-based video platform of failing to appoint a legal representative in the country, refusing to remove profiles as directed, and creating a 'lawless land' on Brazilian social networks, the court said in a statement.

According to Anadolu Agency, Moraes also blamed Rumble for enabling extremist groups to spread 'Nazi, racist, fascist, hateful, and anti-democratic speeches.' The judge ordered the president of Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) to enforce the suspension within 24 hours.

The decision follows a lawsuit filed by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) and Rumble against Moraes amid his indictment of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, alleging his actions violate the First Amendment and suppress conservative voices.
