Trump Fires Joint Chiefs Staff Chairman, Names Candidate for Replacement

Ankara: US President Donald Trump abruptly announced late Friday that the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Charles Brown, was being fired.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump expressed his gratitude towards General Charles 'CQ' Brown for his over 40 years of service, highlighting his leadership and contribution to the nation as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Trump conveyed his appreciation through a message on Truth Social, wishing Brown and his family a prosperous future.

In the announcement, Trump revealed his intention to nominate Air Force Lieut. General Dan 'Razin' Caine as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Trump praised Caine's credentials, emphasizing his expertise as an accomplished pilot and national security expert, as well as his entrepreneurial success. Trump also noted Caine's experience in interagency and special operations, describing him as a 'warfighter.'

Trump mentioned that Caine was overlooked for promotion during President Joe Biden's administration. Furthermore, Trump instructed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to gather nominations for five additional high-level positions, with announcements expected soon.
