Washington: US President Donald Trump accepted an invitation Thursday for a second state visit to the UK that was extended by King Charles III. The invitation was delivered by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during his visit to Washington, DC.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump responded affirmatively on behalf of himself and first lady Melania Trump, stating, "The answer is yes." Trump expressed eagerness to honor King Charles III and the United Kingdom, noting the significance of their visit. "We look forward to being there and honoring the king and ... your country. Your country is a fantastic country, and it will be an honor to be there," he conveyed during a meeting with Starmer.

Starmer highlighted the invitation as 'truly historic' and 'unprecedented,' emphasizing it as a testament to the robust relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom. He conveyed King Charles III's intention to make this visit more successful than Trump's previous visit in 2019, which was hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.
