Latakia: At least 10 people were killed and 14 injured following an explosion in a four-story building in northwestern Syria. The incident occurred in the Al-Raml Al-Janoubi neighborhood of Latakia, where a blast ripped through a residential building.
According to Anadolu Agency, the explosion originated from a scrap shop located beneath the building. The Syrian civil defense reported that the bodies of a child and a man were recovered from the debris. The death toll has reached ten, including three women and two children, with three victims still unidentified. Among the injured are 14 civilians, including four children.
The explosion was triggered by an individual attempting to dismantle war remnants inside the scrap shop. The authorities have stated that this is a preliminary toll as search and rescue operations continue, with efforts ongoing to rescue those still trapped under the rubble.
