Israeli Airstrike Claims Life of Lebanese Citizen in Borj El Mlouk

Borj El Mlouk: A Lebanese citizen was killed on Saturday in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, marking another breach of the November ceasefire agreement. The attack targeted a vehicle in the town of Borj El Mlouk, as confirmed by the Health Ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, the vehicle, which was struck by an Israeli drone, had two occupants at the time of the attack. The Israeli military stated that the target was a Hezbollah operative located in the Kfar Kila municipality.

A ceasefire has been in place in Lebanon since November 2024, which brought an end to the cross-border hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah that escalated into a significant conflict in September. However, Lebanese authorities have documented approximately 1,100 violations of the ceasefire by Israel, resulting in at least 85 fatalities and injuries to over 280 individuals.

The terms of the ceasefire required Israel to completely withdraw from southern Lebanon by January 26. However, this deadline was extended to February 18 after Israel refused to comply. Despite the agreement, Israel continues to maintain a military presence at five border outposts.
