Ankara: Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan called on the international community on Tuesday to halt Israel's "brutality" in Gaza. During a Cabinet session, Hassan described the renewed Israeli airstrikes on Gaza as "an assault on humanity itself," appealing for international intervention to stop the violence against innocent women and children.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry urged Israel to comply with the ceasefire agreement, brokered through Qatari, Egyptian, and US efforts. The ministry warned of the potential for escalating regional tensions if Israel continues its actions in Gaza, calling on the international community to "assume its legal and moral responsibilities" and push for an immediate halt to the aggression.

The ministry further urged international actors to ensure the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement, restore electricity to Gaza, and reopen crossings for humanitarian aid. Gaza faces a severe humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the ongoing conflict.

The Israeli army launched attacks on the Gaza Strip early Tuesday, resulting in at least 404 deaths, hundreds of injuries, and a breach of the ceasefire agreement effective since January 19. Since October 2023, more than 48,500 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have been killed, with over 112,000 more injured due to the Israeli military campaign in the region.

In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
