Algeria to Host Islamic Development Bank’s Annual Meeting

Algiers: The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group's annual meeting will take place in the Algerian capital, Algiers, in May. The bank announced on Monday that its annual meeting will be held from May 19 to 22 at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center.

According to Anadolu Agency, the 2025 IsDB Group Annual Meetings will operate under the theme 'Diversifying Economies, Enriching Lives,' serving as a strategic platform to enhance development cooperation and knowledge exchange. The event will bring together IsDB's Board of Governors, representing 57 member countries, along with development partners, policymakers, and private sector leaders to discuss promoting inclusive and sustainable development and addressing economic challenges.

In addition to the main event, the IsDB Group Private Sector Forum will feature high-level roundtables, thematic side events, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Abdelkrim Bouzred, Algeria's finance minister and chair of the IsDB Board of Governors, emphasized the significance of the event for Algeria, noting its potential to elevate the country's global economic standing by highlighting reforms and showcasing strengths in cooperation, investment, and sustainable development.

Muhammad Al Jasser, chairman of the IsDB Group, expressed honor in holding the 2025 Annual Meetings in Algiers, describing it as a symbol of cooperation and cultural richness. He noted that these meetings represent a key moment to strengthen partnerships and advance innovative solutions for sustainable development across member countries, while also addressing pressing global challenges and exploring new opportunities for shared progress.

The previous year's event was held in the capital Riyadh.
