Baku: The first technical meeting between Trkiye and Israel focused on establishing a conflict prevention mechanism to avoid "unwanted incidents" in Syria was convened on Wednesday in Azerbaijan, as announced by the Turkish National Defense Ministry.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish National Defense Ministry emphasized on Thursday the necessity for Israel to immediately cease its "provocative attacks," which are perceived as threats to Syria's territorial integrity and a destabilizing factor for its security and stability. The ministry stressed that for regional security, Israel should forgo its expansionist and occupying strategies, urging the international community to act against this perceived unlawfulness.
Additionally, the ministry highlighted concerns over Israel's ongoing illegal settlement activities in the West Bank. It noted that these activities, coupled with Israel's inability to halt attacks on regional countries, are contributing to undermining stability and peace across the region.
