Gaza Death Toll Nears 51,000 as Israel’s Genocidal War Continues Unabated

Gaza: Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip killed at least 39 more Palestinians in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll from Israel's genocidal war since October 2023 to 50,983, the Health Ministry said on Monday. A ministry statement noted that 118 more injured individuals were also transferred to hospitals, escalating the number of injuries to 116,274 during the Israeli onslaught. The statement further mentioned that many victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, as rescuers are unable to reach them.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army launched a surprise aerial campaign on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in the deaths of 1,613 people and injuries to over 4,200 others, despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took effect in January. The situation continues to escalate, with significant humanitarian concerns as the conflict endures.

In a related development, last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
