Moscow: The Kremlin announced on Wednesday that it will soon disclose when the US-brokered moratorium between Russia and Ukraine on energy infrastructure strikes will conclude. On March 18, agreements were facilitated by the US to ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea and a 30-day pause on attacks targeting energy infrastructure, following discussions in Saudi Arabia. Despite these agreements, both nations have accused each other of violating the ceasefire.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov addressed journalists in Moscow, stating, "We will inform you. I am not yet ready to inform you about the decision made," while accusing Kyiv of not adhering to the moratorium. The Russian Defense Ministry, via a statement on Telegram, claimed that six strikes on its energy facilities were recorded over the past day, with five occurring in the border regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk. Additionally, a transformer in the Russian-controlled part of Ukraine's southern Kherson region reportedly caught fire. Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on these allegations.

In another development, Peskov discussed the upcoming visit by Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Moscow. The emir is scheduled to meet with President Vladimir Putin to exchange views on the Ukraine conflict and issues in the Middle East. Peskov highlighted Qatar's significant role in resolving regional situations and emphasized the importance of trade, economic cooperation, and dialogue on various sensitive topics between Russia and Qatar.

The visit by Sheikh Tamim was anticipated following his discussions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Doha on February 26. The meeting with Putin was officially confirmed on Wednesday, with the Kremlin stating that the leaders will address bilateral cooperation and key international issues.
