Moscow: Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized the value of the 'brotherly and allied' relations between Russia and Kazakhstan during a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Olzhas Bektenov. The meeting in Moscow highlighted the expanding cooperation in trade, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

According to Anadolu Agency, Mishustin expressed appreciation for the rapid growth in joint energy and technology projects and underscored the importance of regional collaboration. Kazakh Prime Minister Bektenov acknowledged Russia as one of Kazakhstan's primary economic partners, noting that bilateral trade is nearing the $30 billion mark.

Bektenov also highlighted the crucial role of trust-based relations between the two nations' leaders, citing the 2023 state visit by President Vladimir Putin to Astana as a significant catalyst for deepening ties. He pointed out Kazakhstan's increasing investment in Russia and the presence of over 23,000 active companies in Kazakhstan with Russian capital, illustrating a 'deep economic interconnectedness.'

The discussions also included plans to jointly commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II on May 9 and the upcoming Intervision music contest. Both leaders emphasized cultural diplomacy as a vital aspect of their unity. Additionally, preparations for the 21st Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Forum in Uralsk were discussed, with the forum being seen as a crucial platform for addressing bilateral issues and expanding cooperation.
