Fort McCoy: The commander of Fort McCoy in the US Army has been relieved of her duties following the discovery that photos of President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth were missing from the chain of command wall at the base, Fox News reported on Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez was suspended from her position as garrison commander at the Wisconsin base. The US Army Reserve Command emphasized in a statement that Ramirez's suspension was not due to any misconduct, and further details remain under wraps as the situation is under investigation.

The suspension came on the heels of the Department of Defense (DoD) launching an inquiry into the absence of the aforementioned photos, which were replaced with empty frames. A recent image revealed that these frames have now been filled, addressing the previous oversight.

The department's rapid response account commented on the situation on X, stating: "Regarding the Ft. McCoy Chain of Command wall controversy. WE FIXED IT! Also, an investigation has begun to figure out exactly what happened."

Ramirez was appointed as garrison commander in July 2024, having previously served as chief of the Reserve Program at the US Army Intelligence and Security Command in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, alongside other roles within the Army and Army Reserves.

Her removal is part of a broader pattern of leadership changes within the US military, which included the recent dismissal of the commander of Pituffik Space Force Base in Greenland due to allegations of undermining Vice President Vance.
