Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met Tuesday with Alain Berset, the secretary general of the Council of Europe, to discuss cooperation between Trkiye and the organization. During their meeting, various topics concerning mutual interests and collaborative efforts were on the agenda.
According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan emphasized the importance Trkiye places on its relationship with the Council of Europe, noting that the country is a founding member of the organization. He expressed support for Berset's initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive and consensus-based dialogue, highlighting the positive steps Berset has taken since assuming office.
Moreover, Fidan underscored the necessity for the Council of Europe to play a more proactive role in combating all forms of racism, indicating Trkiye's commitment to addressing these critical issues in collaboration with the organization.
