Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping declared on Wednesday that China remains steadfast in pursuing its climate objectives, regardless of shifts on the global stage, as reported by state media. Addressing the Leaders Meeting on Climate and the Just Transition via video link, Xi emphasized China's unwavering support for international cooperation and its dedication to fostering a global community with a shared future for humanity, Xinhua News reported.
According to Anadolu Agency, Xi highlighted China's achievements in developing the world's largest and fastest-expanding renewable energy system, alongside the most comprehensive new energy industrial chain. He noted China's leadership in environmental greening, stating that the nation accounts for 25% of all new afforestation globally.
Xi urged for enhanced international cooperation, calling on countries to bridge divisions and conflicts through openness and inclusion. He stressed the importance of fostering innovation and transforming industries through collaborative efforts. Additionally, Xi underscored the need to promote the global exchange of high-quality green technologies and products, ensuring accessibility and affordability, particularly in developing nations.
