Nantes: One student was killed and three injured Thursday in a stabbing attack at a French high school, according to media reports.

According to Anadolu Agency, a 15-year-old high school student in the western French city of Nantes stabbed four students, one of whom died from her injuries. Public broadcaster BFM TV reported that the attack occurred at a private school during lunchtime.

Education Minister Elisabeth Borne wrote on X that two of the three students who were injured are reported to be in critical condition. The attacker was restrained and arrested by police.

Borne added that she was on her way to the scene along with Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau to express solidarity with the victims and to support the educational community.
