Gaza: At least 52,243 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's ongoing conflict since October 2023, the Health Ministry reported on Sunday. A ministry statement indicated that 51 individuals were killed in Israeli attacks within the last 24 hours, with 115 others injured, bringing the total number of injuries to 117,639 since the onset of the Israeli onslaught.
According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry highlighted that many victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, as rescuers continue to face challenges in reaching them. Additionally, 697 names have been added to the registry following the completion and approval of their data.
The Israeli military resumed its assaults on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in the deaths of 2,151 people and injuries to 5,598 others, effectively ending a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January.
In a related development last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice due to its actions in the enclave.
