Gaza: The Israeli army has released 11 more Palestinian civilians from the Gaza Strip, as reported by witnesses. These individuals were detained during Israel's ongoing conflict in the enclave.

According to Anadolu Agency, the released Palestinians were set free at the Kerem Shalom (Karam Abu Salem) crossing in southern Gaza. The local Al-Aqsa radio, citing witnesses, confirmed the release. A medical source informed Anadolu that the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) transported the detainees to the European Hospital in Khan Younis for medical checkups. There has been no comment from the Israeli army regarding these releases.

In recent months, the Israeli army has released dozens of Palestinians from Gaza without prior coordination or agreement with the Palestinian authorities. Israel's Prison Authority states that 1,747 Palestinian detainees from Gaza remain in its jails, although Palestinians believe the number is much higher, with many held in army-run prisons.

The Israeli military renewed its assault on Gaza on March 18, effectively ending a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January 19. This resurgence of hostilities has resulted in the deaths of over 52,000 Palestinians, most of whom were women and children, since October 2023.

The situation has drawn international legal scrutiny. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in the enclave.
