China Opposes Israel’s Military Actions in Gaza

Beijing: China on Tuesday expressed opposition to Israel's ongoing military operations in Gaza, calling for the enforcement of a ceasefire. 'China is highly concerned about the current situation between Palestine and Israel,' stated Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian during a news conference, as per an official transcript.

According to Anadolu Agency, China has urged all parties involved to adhere to the ceasefire agreement and to pursue a political resolution to the conflict. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 52,600 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023, the majority of whom are women and children.

The International Criminal Court took action in November by issuing arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice concerning its actions in the enclave.
