Ankara: Trkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte met on Tuesday ahead of an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers. The meeting took place over a working dinner in Antalya, as announced by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on X.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry did not disclose further details about the discussions between Fidan and Rutte. Prior to his engagement with Fidan, Secretary-General Rutte was welcomed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.

During the meeting with Rutte, President Erdogan reiterated his support for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, emphasizing that NATO should not engage in the conflict. Rutte acknowledged Trkiye's significant contributions to the alliance, describing the nation as a "staunch and capable ally" after his conversation with Erdogan.
