Russia’s Upper House Speaker Begins Official Visit to Armenia

Yerevan: The speaker of Russia’s upper house of parliament has arrived in Armenia on an official visit. A statement by Russia’s Federation Council on Telegram noted that a delegation led by its head, Valentina Matviyenko, has reached the South Caucasus nation to engage in discussions with the country’s leadership.

According to Anadolu Agency, a conversation with the Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, is among the planned engagements. Matviyenko and Simonyan are also expected to inaugurate the 39th meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the legislatures of the two countries.

In addition to these engagements, Matviyenko will participate in the 10th Russian-Armenian Interregional Forum, further solidifying ties between Russia and Armenia.
