Mersin: Turkish prefabricated building company Karmod has completed the installation of a container office building at the site of Trkiye's Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) project in the southern city of Mersin, the company said in a statement on Wednesday. The office will serve the Russian AAEM Turbine company, which is responsible for installing steam turbines at the facility.
According to Anadolu Agency, Karmod Container Sales Manager Ozay Kemal Karakucuk stated that the company has been providing construction and office buildings at the site since the project's inception. Karakucuk emphasized the benefits of Karmod's pre-manufactured building system for large project sites like Akkuyu, noting that installations are completed quietly and without disrupting the construction environment.
Karakucuk further highlighted the rapid installation advantages of Karmod's new generation container models, which employ bolt-together assembly rather than welding. He noted that the two-story, 84-square-meter container office was made ready for use in just three days, including roof covering. The ergonomic use and improved safety features of Karmod's container structures were also underscored, with reinforced metal thickness and floor support enhancing safety, while special sealing applications at metal sandwich panel joints provide climate control.
The container office project at Akkuyu includes interior furnishings and equipment supplied by Karmod, such as cabinets, desks, chairs, and air conditioning units, Karakucuk added.
