China’s President Xi to Visit Kazakhstan for Central Asia-China Summit

Astana: Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to make an official visit to Kazakhstan, coinciding with the second edition of a significant regional summit involving Beijing. According to an official statement released on Wednesday, the visit will occur from June 16-17, upon the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

According to Anadolu Agency, Kazakhstan's presidential press service, Akorda, announced on Telegram that during the visit, President Xi plans to engage in talks with President Tokayev. The discussions are expected to focus on further deepening the strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan.

The statement also highlighted that the Central Asia-China summit's second edition is scheduled to take place on June 17 in the Kazakh capital, Astana, with both heads of state participating. This follows the first edition of the summit, which was held in the Chinese city of Xi'an on May 18-19, 2023.
