Tel Aviv: Israel launched a new series of strikes on central Iran on Monday, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claiming full control of airspace over Tehran.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli Channel 12 reported that the army was attacking dozens of targets in central Iran, although specific details were not provided. In response, Iranian media confirmed the closure of the Tehran-Qom highway following these Israeli strikes.

An Israeli military statement detailed that several trucks, allegedly transporting weapons such as surface-to-air missile launchers, were targeted while en route to Tehran from western Iran since Monday morning. "We struck the trucks, neutralizing the weapons and launchers," the army stated.

The recent military actions have intensified regional tensions, which have been escalating since Friday. Israel initiated coordinated airstrikes on several sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, which led Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes.

Israeli authorities reported that at least 24 people have been killed and hundreds injured due to Iranian missile attacks since Friday. Conversely, Iran claimed that at least 224 people have been killed and over 1,000 others wounded in the ongoing Israeli assaults.
