Jerusalem: Israel's national security advisor on Tuesday stated that the country's military operations against Iran will persist "without damaging the Fordo nuclear facility," as reported by an Israeli broadcaster on Tuesday evening.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Fordo nuclear facility, located near Qom, Iran, is a highly fortified underground uranium enrichment site. It is designed to withstand conventional airstrikes, making it a significant target in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

In an interview with Channel 12, Tzachi Hanegbi, Israel's national security advisor, expressed uncertainty about the involvement of the United States in these operations, stating, "I don't know if the US will join." However, Hanegbi noted that Israel maintains continuous communication with the US but clarified that there is no attempt to persuade them to join the strikes.

The ongoing hostilities have intensified regional tensions since Friday when Israel launched coordinated airstrikes on multiple locations across Iran, targeting military and nuclear facilities. In response, Tehran has executed retaliatory strikes.

Israeli authorities reported that the Iranian missile attacks since Friday have resulted in at least 24 fatalities and hundreds of injuries. Conversely, Iran claims that the Israeli assault has led to the deaths of at least 224 individuals and injuries to over 1,000 others.
