Tel Aviv: The Israeli army announced on Friday that it conducted airstrikes targeting three missile platforms within Iran, asserting that the platforms were prepared to launch missiles toward Israel. This operation marks a significant development in the escalating conflict between the two nations.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated that the airstrike also resulted in the death of a military commander who was allegedly arranging the missile launch. The announcement did not include the specific location of the strikes or further operational details. Iranian officials have not yet issued a response to these claims.
The Israeli airstrikes are part of a broader campaign, with overnight operations targeting numerous military facilities and a nuclear research site in Iran. In a related incident, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported a ballistic missile strike on the CyberSpark complex in Beersheba, southern Israel. The strike reportedly destroyed the Gav-Yam 4 building, a significant facility within CyberSpark known for hosting Israeli cyber and intelligence operations.
The IRNA report highlighted that Gav-Yam 4 was involved in training intelligence personnel in drone operations and espionage activities managed by Israeli security and military officials. Earlier, Iran launched missile attacks on southern Israel, targeting the Nevatim Air Base in the Negev Desert, according to Iranian media.
In response, the Israeli military reported that over 60 fighter jets conducted overnight airstrikes in Tehran, deploying approximately 120 munitions to attack military targets. Among the targeted sites was the headquarters of Iran's Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND), which is reputed to develop advanced weapons and military technologies. The Israeli military also claimed to have intercepted four drones launched from Iran toward Israel.
