Ankara: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday expressed 'deep concern' regarding the recent United States military strikes aimed at nuclear sites in Iran.

According to Anadolu Agency, the OIC's General Secretariat issued a statement characterizing these attacks as a 'dangerous escalation' that could potentially increase tensions and undermine regional security, peace, and stability. The statement reiterated the OIC's condemnation of violations against Iran's sovereignty, referencing a previous statement from June 13, 2025, that denounced such actions as breaches of international laws and conventions. The OIC urged all parties to de-escalate, exercise self-restraint, and return to dialogue and negotiations through peaceful means.

US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday morning that American forces had targeted three Iranian nuclear sites located in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. The military operation involved six bunker-buster bombs deployed on the Fordo facility by B-2 stealth bombers and numerous submarine-launched cruise missiles directed at the Natanz and Isfahan sites.

This series of attacks represents the latest intensification in the US-supported Israeli military campaign against Iran that has been ongoing since June 13. In response, Iran has launched retaliatory strikes against Israel. Israeli authorities reported that at least 25 individuals have been killed and hundreds have been injured due to Iranian missile attacks.

In Iran, the Health Ministry reported that 430 people have died, and more than 3,500 have been injured as a result of the Israeli assault.
