Ankara: US President Donald Trump on Monday rejected media reports suggesting limited impact from weekend strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, insisting the targets were "totally destroyed."

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump dismissed reports downplaying the effectiveness of the strikes, stating on social media, "The sites that we hit in Iran were totally destroyed, and everyone knows it." He accused news organizations of deliberately minimizing the operation's success, adding that even those critical of him acknowledged that the targets were "pretty well destroyed."

Trump further criticized several US media outlets, accusing them of disseminating fake news and linking this to their low ratings, claiming they have "ZERO CREDIBILITY."

Over the weekend, the US targeted Iran's nuclear sites using six bunker-buster bombs dropped on the Fordo facility with B-2 stealth bombers, as well as dozens of submarine-launched cruise missile strikes on the Natanz and Isfahan facilities. Trump previously described the strikes as causing "monumental damage" to the Iranian nuclear sites.

Iran has contested the claimed extent of the damage, with the Atomic Energy Organization asserting the continued development of its nuclear program, emphasizing that the industry is "built on the blood of nuclear martyrs."

In a separate statement, the Iranian Armed Forces announced that they launched "destructive and powerful missile attacks" on the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar in response to the American strikes.
