French President Applauds Trump’s Call for Israel-Iran Ceasefire Amid Fragile Conditions

Oslo: French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed US President Donald Trump's announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, emphasizing the fragile nature of the current situation.

According to Anadolu Agency, Macron expressed his approval of Trump's call for a ceasefire during a press conference at the conclusion of his two-day visit to Norway. He highlighted the significance of Trump's statements, which urged a return to negotiations and an end to hostilities. Macron reiterated that these were the objectives he had been advocating from the beginning.

Macron cautioned that despite the positive developments, the situation remains precarious. He urged close monitoring and the application of the greatest possible pressure to halt the ongoing conflicts and facilitate dialogue. Addressing concerns about Iran's clandestine uranium enrichment, Macron acknowledged the escalating risk and confirmed his plans to meet with the chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
