Baku: Azerbaijan on Saturday condemned a suicide bombing in northwestern Pakistan that killed at least 13 military personnel and injured several others, including civilians, according to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry expressed condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan, as well as to the families of the victims. The ministry labeled the incident as a 'heinous' and 'cowardly' act of terrorism. Baku reiterated its stance against all forms of terrorism, emphasizing the threat such acts pose to peace and security.

Earlier that day, a suicide bomber targeted a convoy in Khadi Market, Mir Ali, near the Afghan border. The attack, aimed at a bomb disposal vehicle from the 22 Frontier Force Regiment, resulted in one of the deadliest assaults on Pakistani security forces in recent months. Alongside the military casualties, three civilians, including two children and a woman, were severely injured.

In response, the Pakistan army reported it had killed 14 terrorists in a subsequent military operation. A local militant group associated with Hafiz Gulbahadar claimed responsibility for the bombing. Meanwhile, Islamabad has long accused Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants based in Afghanistan of carrying out cross-border attacks, an allegation that Kabul denies.
