Gaza: At least 57,268 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Health Ministry reported on Friday, providing updated figures on the cumulative death toll.

According to Anadolu Agency, a statement from the ministry indicated that 138 bodies were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours, with 625 people sustaining injuries. This brings the total number of injuries from the Israeli offensive to 135,173. The ministry highlighted that many victims remain trapped under debris and on roads, with rescue operations hindered in reaching them.

The ministry also reported that 62 Palestinians were killed and over 300 injured while attempting to obtain humanitarian aid within the last day. This situation has resulted in a total of 714 aid seekers being killed by Israeli fire since May 27, with 4,837 others wounded. A newly introduced Israeli-backed aid scheme has faced criticism from Palestinian officials and international observers, who describe it as a deadly risk.

The Israeli military resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in 6,710 deaths and 23,584 injuries, effectively breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been established in January. In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
