Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, concluded Monday's trading session at 10,107.68 points, marking a 1.64% decrease from its previous close. The index, which began the week at 10,137.91 points, saw a decline of 168.07 points compared to Friday's closing figures.
According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index experienced fluctuations throughout the day, with its lowest point at 10,093.23 and reaching a high of 10,183.47. Despite the overall drop, 87 stocks on the index registered gains, while 13 stocks fell in comparison to the previous close.
The total market capitalization of the BIST 100 was approximately 9.28 trillion Turkish liras, equivalent to $234 billion. The daily trading volume was recorded at 85.2 billion Turkish liras, or $2.13 billion.
In addition to stock market movements, the price of an ounce of gold was noted at $3,319.20. Brent crude oil was priced around $68.70 per barrel at 6.25 pm local time (1525GMT). Furthermore, the exchange rates were as follows: the US dollar/Turkish lira was 39.9945, the euro/Turkish lira was 46.9765, and one British pound was trading at 54.6005 Turkish liras.
