Al hudaydah: The Israeli army launched a series of airstrikes early Monday on the western Yemeni city of Al Hudaydah, media affiliated with the Houthi group reported. 'Israeli enemy aircraft carried out a series of airstrikes on Al Hudaydah,' said Al-Masirah TV.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli army targeted the ports of Al Hudaydah, Ras Isa, and Al-Salif, along with the Ras Kanatib power plant in the city. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated that the Yemeni Air Force is actively confronting these attacks. There have been no reported casualties or material damage thus far.

In a statement, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz noted that the targets also included the 'Galaxy Leader' ship, which was reportedly hijacked by the Houthis two years ago in the Red Sea, as reported by The Times of Israel. Katz reiterated a warning previously made, stating, 'As I warned, Yemen will be treated like Tehran.'

Prior to the airstrikes, the Israeli army issued evacuation warnings for three ports and a power station in western Yemen, citing military activities by the Houthis. Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee communicated via X, urging those present in the ports of Al Hudaydah, Ras Isa, Al-Salif, and the Al Hudaydah power station-Ras al-Katib to evacuate.

In recent months, the Houthis have increased missile and drone strikes on Israel, particularly after the Israeli military resumed attacks on Gaza in March. Since November 2023, the group has also targeted commercial shipping in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea, claiming these actions support Palestinians in Gaza, where over 57,400 people have been killed in ongoing conflicts.
