Istanbul: American jazz vocalist Jazzmeia Horn performed as part of the 32nd Istanbul Jazz Festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV). Horn shared her experiences of performing at the Swissotel The Bosphorus Sultan Park and expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome she received in Trkiye.

According to Anadolu Agency, Horn stated that this was her first visit to Trkiye and although she had not yet fully absorbed Turkish culture, she found everyone to be very nice. Her performance included songs from her latest album, Messages, featuring tracks such as Free Your Mind, Submit to the Unknown, and Don't Forget Your Love.

Horn highlighted that most of her songs focus on themes of love and self-care. As a mother and a musician, she finds balancing life's demands challenging, and she aims to convey the importance of self-love and positivity through her music. She believes that maintaining a positive mindset is crucial and hopes for the best in all her endeavors.

Emphasizing the significance of dedication in jazz, Horn described it as a culture and a way of life that requires serious commitment. She compared the discipline needed in jazz to that of a surgeon, stressing that success comes from mental belief and hard work.

During her performance, Horn showcased her ability to blend traditional music elements with modern themes and styles. Recognized as an innovative figure in jazz, her rhythm and vocal range left a lasting impression on the audience. Her vibrant outfits and accessories also drew attention, reflecting her cultural roots.

Horn was joined by Joel Holmes on piano, Ameen Saleem on bass, and Ryan Sands on drums, creating a memorable musical experience. The Istanbul Jazz Festival continues through July 17.
