Ankara: The Turkish vice president and communications director on Wednesday condemned Israel's attack on Syria, emphasizing the threat posed to regional stability and peace.

According to Anadolu Agency, Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz expressed strong condemnation of Israel's actions, stating, "Israel's attacks on Syria constitute a clear threat not only to Syria's sovereignty but also to the stability and peace of our region." He highlighted the importance of the reconstruction process in Syria, following years of internal turmoil, as crucial for the Syrian people and regional security. Yilmaz criticized Israel's continued aggressive stance as an act of sabotage against regional peace and international law.

Communications Director Burhanettin Duran echoed these sentiments, stating that the attacks target not only Syria's stability and security but also the peace of the entire region. He condemned the attack and affirmed Turkey's ongoing support for Syria's territorial integrity.

On the same day, Israel launched airstrikes on Damascus, targeting Syria's Defense Ministry and areas near the presidential palace. The strikes coincided with the resumption of Israeli attacks in southern Syria's Suwayda province, accompanied by a warning that they would persist unless Syrian forces withdraw.

The Syrian army responded by deploying troops to the area to restore order following clashes between armed Druze and Bedouin groups, which resulted in at least 30 casualties. The Israeli army claims these operations aim to protect the Druze minority.
