Suwayda: A ceasefire has been reached in Suwayda city in southern Syria after recent clashes between armed Druze and Bedouin groups, as reported by local media. The agreement was announced on Wednesday, bringing a temporary halt to the violence that has engulfed the area.

According to Anadolu Agency, the state news agency SANA, citing a source from the Interior Ministry, stated that the ceasefire deal includes the deployment of security checkpoints throughout Suwayda. This measure aims to restore order and fully reintegrate the city into the Syrian state.

The violence in Suwayda erupted when armed Druze militias and Bedouin groups engaged in conflict after reportedly seizing vehicles from each other. The clashes have resulted in significant casualties.

Syria's Interior Ministry reported that the clashes have left more than 30 people dead and nearly 100 injured. The ceasefire is seen as a crucial step toward stabilizing the region and preventing further loss of life.
