Tehran: Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared that the nation possesses the capability to deliver 'even stronger blows' to the United States and Israel if they engage in renewed military attacks. During a meeting with judicial officials from across Iran, Khamenei emphasized that the efforts by Washington and Tel Aviv to destabilize the country through assassinations and opposition groups have been thwarted by the resilience of the Iranian people.
According to Anadolu Agency, Khamenei highlighted the unity demonstrated by Iranians from various sectors in defending the nation. He attributed the failure of foreign schemes to divine intervention and the collective resolve of the people. Khamenei further noted that Israel sought assistance from the US following Iran's decisive response to recent aggressions, indicating Israel's inability to confront Iran independently.
Khamenei cited Iran's missile attack on the US Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar as a testament to Tehran's determination. He remarked on the significance of the targeted base, describing it as a critical American installation in the region. The Iranian leader also referenced the recent conflict, where on June 13, Israel, backed by the US, initiated a 12-day offensive against Iran. The offensive targeted military, nuclear, and civilian sites, as well as key military and scientific figures.
In retaliation, Iran launched missile and drone strikes on Israeli military and intelligence installations. A ceasefire brokered by the US between Tehran and Tel Aviv was declared on June 24, bringing a temporary halt to hostilities.
