Ankara: Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Metin Gurak on Thursday met his French counterpart, Gen. Thierry Burkhard, in the Turkish capital Ankara.

According to Anadolu Agency, Gen. Gurak welcomed Gen. Burkhard with an official ceremony at the General Staff Headquarters. Following the ceremony, Gen. Burkhard paid his respects by saluting the Honor Guard.

The two generals then proceeded to hold a closed-door meeting to discuss matters of mutual interest and cooperation. Later in the day, Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler also received Gen. Burkhard. The ministry announced on X that Gen. Gurak was present at this reception as well, highlighting the importance of the visit and the discussions held.
