Tel aviv: The Yemeni Houthi group announced drone attacks on five Israeli targets on Monday, shortly after airstrikes were conducted by Tel Aviv on Al Hudaydah port in western Yemen. Israel's Army Radio reported that the Israeli Air Force had downed a drone, though no air-raid sirens were activated during the incident.

According to Anadolu Agency, while the origin of the drone has not been officially confirmed by the Israeli army, preliminary assessments from Channel 13 and other Israeli media suggest that it was launched from Yemen. The Houthi group confirmed that their drone attacks targeted five Israeli locations, including Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport.

Military spokesman Yahya Saree stated that the attacks also hit Eilat Port, Ramon Airport, and a site in Ashdod successfully. The drone strikes occurred hours after Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Monday that Israeli forces had struck Al Hudaydah port. This marked the 12th wave of Israeli airstrikes on Yemen since October 2023.

The Houthis have increased missile and drone strikes on Israel following the resumption of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in March after a two-month ceasefire. Since November 2023, the group has also aimed at commercial shipping in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea, aligning their actions with support for Palestinians in Gaza, where nearly 59,000 individuals have died due to an Israeli offensive.
