Gaza city: At least 59,921 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, as reported by the Health Ministry on Monday. The ministry's statement highlighted that 100 bodies were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours, with 382 people sustaining injuries. This has brought the total number of injuries to 145,233 as a result of the Israeli offensive.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry emphasized that many victims remain trapped under debris and on roads, as rescuers face challenges in reaching them. The situation has been further exacerbated by the ongoing violence, impacting rescue and humanitarian efforts.

The ministry also reported that in the last 24 hours, 25 Palestinians were killed and over 237 injured while attempting to obtain humanitarian aid. Since May 27, this brings the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid to 1,157, with over 7,758 others injured.

The conflict intensified when the Israeli army resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in 8,755 deaths and 33,192 injuries. This escalation shattered a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January.

In related developments, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in the enclave.
