All 55 Wildfires in Trkiye Under Control, Cooling Efforts Ongoing

Ankara: All 55 wildfires that broke out in Trkiye in the last 24 hours are now under control, with cooling efforts ongoing, said the country's agriculture and forestry minister on Tuesday. Identifying the wildfire in Harmancik in northwestern Bursa as the last fire burning, Ibrahim Yumakli told reporters: "Our efforts to completely control the fire are ongoing, with five aircraft, 30 helicopters, and 855 ground vehicles."

According to Anadolu Agency, heavy fog and smoke in the mornings and strong winds in the afternoon made it difficult for aircraft to intervene, which prolonged the efforts to bring the situation under control. However, Yumakli noted that as soon as the weather began to improve, the aerial response was intensified. Ground operations have been conducted tirelessly, both day and night.

Yumakli mentioned that the efforts to fight the blaze in Bursa are progressing well, expressing hope to share good news later Tuesday. He emphasized the importance of public caution and urged people to report even the smallest of fires noticed in open areas. He added that the risk of wildfires remains, and the authorities will stay vigilant until at least October.
