Ankara: Trkiye and the United Kingdom have solidified their defense collaboration with a significant agreement involving the export of Eurofighter Typhoons to Trkiye. According to Anadolu Agency, the UK government has highlighted the importance of Trkiye in its National Security Strategy 2025, describing it as a pivotal partner in safeguarding UK security interests across Europe and NATO's flanks. The agreement, signed in Istanbul by UK Defense Secretary John Healey and Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Gler, is expected to bolster NATO's collective deterrence and fortify industrial ties between the UK and Trkiye. The Typhoon program alone supports approximately 20,000 jobs in the UK, with the potential for thousands more as exports increase, contributing significantly to the UK's economic goals.
