Two Killed, Six Injured in Los Angeles Warehouse Party Shooting

Los angeles: At least two people were killed and six others injured in a shooting in Los Angeles, California, early Monday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the shooting took place at 1 am local time (0800GMT) Monday at a warehouse party in downtown Los Angeles. Seven individuals were transported to the hospital, where a woman in her early 50s succumbed to her wounds, while a man in his late 20s was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by the Los Angeles Times citing police sources.

The investigation is ongoing to identify the suspect involved in the shooting, the report noted.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass expressed her condolences on X, stating, "This senseless violence and loss of life is devastating and those who are responsible must be held accountable. There will be no tolerance for violence in this city. My thoughts are with the victims and their families."

Mayor Bass also extended her gratitude to the first responders and emphasized that law enforcement is actively investigating the incident to understand what transpired and to prevent future violence. She highlighted that gang interventionists are providing support to the affected families and continuing efforts to maintain neighborhood safety.
