Ankara: Trkiye is taking historic steps to safeguard the nation's future, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday before chairing an annual meeting of the Supreme Military Council.
According to Anadolu Agency, Erdogan emphasized Trkiye's ongoing struggle to become the leading nation in its region within the reshaped global order. He mentioned the challenges posed by both internal and external threats but reaffirmed the country's commitment to overcoming these obstacles.
Erdogan highlighted the areas where Trkiye is making significant progress, including security, democracy, economy, technology, defense industry, and foreign policy. He expressed confidence that the 2025 meeting of the Supreme Military Council would mark a new milestone in achieving the vision of the Century of Trkiye.
In a ceremonial visit before the meeting, Erdogan paid tribute at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Trkiye. He honored Ataturk and all those who sacrificed their lives for the future of the nation, underscoring the importance of their contributions to Trkiye's progress.
