Kazan: The 2025 PSB Russian Track and Field Championships concluded in Kazan, showcasing four days of intense competition involving over 700 athletes from across Russia.

According to Anadolu Agency, the championships, held at Kazan's Central Stadium, featured 44 medal events, with the final day highlighting the triple jump and hurdles finals. Fyodor Ivanov set a new Russian national record in the men's 400 meters hurdles, finishing in 47.94 seconds and breaking the previous record of 48.05 seconds set by Denis Kudryavtsev in 2015.

Another remarkable performance came from Vladimir Nikitin, who won the men's 10,000 meters in 27 minutes and 48.30 seconds. Nikitin, known for his success in the BRICS Games and as a multiple-time record holder, surpassed Sergei Ivanov's 2008 record of 27:53.12.

During the championships, Russian Athletics President Petr Fradkov discussed the importance of integrity education workshops that were conducted, focusing on anti-doping protocols, safeguarding, and transparent governance. Fradkov expressed hopes for international reinstatement, stating, "We believe that in the near future, there may be some decisions to get some of our athletes restored in some way. Our task is to prepare athletes who are competitive on the international arena when that day comes."

Despite the lifting of a doping suspension by World Athletics in 2023, Russian competitors remain barred from international events due to a ban related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
