Ankara: China has condemned the Group of Seven's (G7) remarks concerning Hong Kong's arrest warrants, which Beijing describes as targeting 'anti-China disruptors,' as reported by state-run Xinhua News on Sunday.

According to Anadolu Agency, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Britain labeled the G7's comments as 'irresponsible' and an interference in China's internal affairs and the rule of law in Hong Kong. The criticism from the G7 came after Hong Kong police issued arrest warrants against individuals based overseas on July 25, which the G7 described as a violation of freedom of expression.

The spokesperson further emphasized China's strong condemnation of the G7's statement and reiterated Beijing's support for the Hong Kong SAR government and its police force in executing law enforcement actions in accordance with the law. The statement also accused the G7 countries of displaying double standards and hypocrisy regarding human rights and the rule of law, urging them to stop interfering in China's internal matters.

The arrest warrants issued by Hong Kong's national security police targeted 19 overseas-based activists, accusing them of subversion under the city's national security law. Bounties were announced for 15 of these individuals, a move that was also criticized by the United States.
