China Expresses Support for Upcoming Trump-Putin Summit in Alaska

Beijing: China has announced its support for the upcoming meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, which is scheduled to occur in Alaska on Friday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian released a statement affirming China's backing for the talks. The statement emphasized that China supports efforts aimed at peacefully resolving the crisis and is pleased to see Russia and the United States maintaining contact, improving relations, and advancing the political resolution of the Ukraine crisis.

Lin Jian further expressed Beijing's hope that all parties involved will engage in negotiations promptly and work towards a fair, lasting, and binding peace agreement that is acceptable to all concerned parties.

The meeting between Trump and Putin is set to center on discussions related to ending the war in Ukraine. Notably, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and representatives of the European Union have not been invited to participate in the summit.
