Ankara: Trkiye's Defense Minister Yasar Guler engaged in discussions with several high-ranking Syrian officials during their visit to Ankara, as announced by the National Defense Ministry on Turkish social media platform Next Sosyal.

According to Anadolu Agency, Guler welcomed Syrian Defense Minister Murhef Abu Kasra, Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, and Intelligence Chief Hussein Al-Salame at the ministry headquarters. The dialogue centered around critical bilateral and regional defense and security issues, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the two nations.

In a significant development during the meeting, Guler and Abu Kasra formalized their commitment to mutual cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding. This agreement outlines plans for joint training and consultancy, marking a step forward in defense relations between Trkiye and Syria.
