Gaza: At least 61,776 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's ongoing war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

According to Anadolu Agency, a ministry statement reported that 54 bodies, including four recovered from under rubble, were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours. Additionally, 831 people were injured, bringing the total number of injuries to 154,906 since the conflict began.

The statement highlighted that many victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, as ambulance and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them. The ministry also detailed that 22 Palestinians were killed and 269 injured by Israeli strikes while attempting to receive humanitarian aid in the last day. This brings the total casualties of those seeking aid to 1,881 killed and over 13,863 wounded since May 27.

The humanitarian situation continues to worsen, as the ministry reported four deaths in the past 24 hours due to famine and malnutrition. The total number of deaths from starvation has reached 239, including 106 children.

The Israeli army resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18, resulting in 10,251 deaths and 42,865 injuries, breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January.

In a related development, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
