Anchorage: Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to arrive in Anchorage, Alaska, at 11 am local time, where he will be greeted by US President Donald Trump, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The announcement was made on Friday, with Peskov detailing the specifics of Putin's travel from Magadan, Russia to the US.

According to Anadolu Agency, Peskov spoke to Russia 1, revealing that President Putin will spend the four-hour flight reviewing documents related to the summit, which are expected to address the ongoing Ukraine conflict, economic cooperation projects, and 'mutual irritants' in US-Russia relations. The meeting is anticipated to cover regional and international issues as well.

The summit, expected to last six to seven hours, will include sessions in a one-on-one format with the presence of aides. The Russian side is hopeful for a productive meeting, as this marks the first direct talks between the current US and Russian presidents since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously stated that Trump showed willingness to provide security guarantees to Ukraine. Meanwhile, Trump proposed a territorial swap between Russia and Ukraine as part of a peace deal and issued a warning to Putin about 'very severe consequences' if the war is not resolved during the summit. However, Zelenskyy has firmly rejected any territorial concessions.
