Gaza: Medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported that the number of injured Palestinians by Israeli fire in Gaza has tripled since late May, as the territory's shattered health system struggles to cope. Mohammed Abu Mughaisib, MSF's deputy medical coordinator in Gaza, conveyed in a video message that food distribution centers, established by the Israeli- and US-backed Gaza Relief Organization, have become perilous zones rather than safe havens for civilians.

According to Anadolu Agency, Gaza's Health Ministry revealed that nearly 1,924 people have been killed and more than 14,000 injured while waiting for aid at these sites since May 27, when the Israeli-run scheme began. Abu Mughaisib highlighted the dire medical situations involving crushed bones, amputated limbs, torn arteries, and severe infections. He emphasized that emergency surgery and intensive care, already crippled by months of conflict, are on the brink of collapse in the few hospitals still operational.

Abu Mughaisib urged for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access, stating that without these measures, the region risks losing its hospitals, patients, and future. The devastating military campaign by Israel has reportedly resulted in the death of 61,900 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023, pushing the enclave to the brink of famine.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice regarding its military actions in the enclave.
